About Our HelleboresOur hellebores are regarded as being some of the finest strains ever produced, attracting gardeners and growers from all over the world. We are extremely proud that at RHS London Flower Shows every one of our exhibits since 1993 has been awarded a coveted Gold Medal, a record unrivalled by any other hellebore grower. We are delighted that our plants have been featured in the national press, gardening books and magazines, as well as on television. We grow a comprehensive range of both species and hybrids, but it is for our Helleborus 'Ashwood Garden Hybrids' that we are internationally acclaimed. Our breeding programme is ongoing so that each year sees exciting developments, with new colours and forms being introduced. We also continue to experiment with interspecies hybrids, which has resulted in the introduction of new varieties such as H. x 'Pink Ice' and H. x 'Briar Rose'’ Do try and visit us during January, February and early March when you will find an amazing selection of hellebore plants for sale in our beautiful sales areas. You can also wander through our nursery show garden and see them growing with winter flowering shrubs, dogwoods and spring bulbs. If you are able to visit on 'John’s Private Garden' open day in winter you will see how the nursery owner, John Massey, has used hellebores in his own garden to stunning effect. In addition we hold a number of annual events and lectures aimed at hellebore enthusiasts. Hellebores go well with... Cyclamen coum...enchanting plants, producing a profusion of beautiful flowers from early winter until late March.  Snowdrops...an essential part of the winter garden, early to flower and giving cheer on even the darkest days.  Camellias...prized for the exquisite beauty of their blooms that appear in early winter and continue until spring.
