About our Camellias

We feel sure you will be impressed with our fine selection of camellias, many of which are grown here on the nursery by our skilled team of specialist growers. Our plants are container grown, mainly in 3 litre pots, and are not only top quality but are lovingly tended and watered by hand.

We passionately believe that camellias are an essential part of the winter and spring scene and that no garden is complete without them. Their bold evergreen foliage is indispensable for giving form and structure, but it is for the exquisite beauty of the blooms that they are so prized. Flowering can begin as early as November and frequently carries on until April. They are perfect for the mixed border, woodland gardens or in patio containers provided their cultural requirements are met.

If possible do come and visit us and you will find our camellias beautifully displayed in our inspirational sales area where you can select your plants for purchase. As well as camellias, you will discover some real treasures for the winter and spring garden that include plants for foliage, bark and stem effect plus an amazing range of other winter-flowering shrubs, many of which are delightfully scented. If you visit from January to March you will be able to see camellias imaginatively displayed with our wonderful world-famous hellebores and cyclamen. 

When to buy plants

At the Nursery: Camellias (usually 3litre pots) are available from mid December to April. Some limited availability for the rest of the year. Please e-mail or telephone to check availability if you are wishing to purchase specific varieties.
